Dr. Zhong obtained his PhD degree of physical chemistry in 2016, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bin Ren in Xiamen University, China. He used in-situ electrochemical Raman spectroscopy and high spatial resolution tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy to study the surface and interfacial properties of graphene and bimetallic model catalysts. Since Feb. 2017, he joined the Ultrafast Nano-optics group of Prof. Dr. Christoph Lienau in Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg, Germany, founded by Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellowship and Carl von Ossietzky Young Researchers’ Fellowship. In Oldenburg he used ultrafast femtosecond time-resolved nonlinear spectroscopy to explore the coupling between plasmons and excitons in hybrid metal/semiconductor nanostructures.

His research interests include ultrafast nano-optics, polaritonic chemistry, nonlinear optics, scanning near-field optical microscopy, tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, surface science, and electrochemistry.
